Two compete in state Special Olympics

The state Special Olympics Fall Sports Classic was held on Nov. 13 and 14 in Brooklyn Center.

This is the second largest state competition that is held each year, according to Jane Hjelle, Paynesville Special Olympics coach.

This yearís competition included over 620 athletes from 77 teams competing in bowling and roller skating.

Two Paynesville athletes took part in the singles bowling competition. Alyscia Braun received a second place silver medal. Jesse Bahner received a third place bronze medal.

The competition was sponsored by the State Council of the Knights of Columbus.
