Deadrick named to Hall of Fame at Northern State
Scott Deadrick, a 1981 PHS grad, was inducted into the Northern State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004. |
Deadrick played at Northern State in Aberdeen, S.D., from 1981 to 1985. He started for four years, earned All Conference honors all four years, and was a team captain. In 1983 and 1984, Deadrick led the Wolves to district championships and national tournament bids.
He still holds the Wolves' record for shooting 100 percent from the field in December 1981, making all eight shots against Dakota State. He ranks fourth all-time in career rebounding at Northern State with 964 boards, and he ranks eighth all-time in scoring with 1,827 points.
The Northern State University Athletic Hall of Fame, started in 1973, has 145 members, including seven inducted in 2004.
Deadrick, the son of Glen and Jean Deadrick of Paynesville, scored 993 points in high school for the Paynesville Bulldogs during his three-year varsity career. He ranks fifth in career scoring for boys' basketball at PHS.
Deadrick is a vice president for Carlton Finance in Wayzata and lives in Waconia with his wife Vicki and their daughter Lauren, 10, and son Sam, 3. Among his community involvement, he coaches his daughter's basketball team.
