Girls cross country holds banquet

This article submitted by Amanda Lieser & Emily Glenz on 11/19/96.

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the annual cross country banquet was held at the Paynesville Area High School.

Coaches reviewed the season, captains said their final speeches, awards were distributed and pizza provided by Jimmy's Pizza was eaten.

Among the award winners, Amanda Lieser was named MVP for the second year in a row. Also for the second year in a row, Erin Aagesen was presented with the "most dedicated" and mileage award (the mileage award is not voted on, but is determined on the number of miles ran in the summer).

Tiffany Rausch was voted "most improved" for her great efforts this season. Camille Flanders, being the rowdy person she is, was named "most enthusiastic."

The pride award (also not voted on) was distributed to Erin Aagesen and Christina Utsch. The pride award is presented to those who haven't missed a single practice.

Three girls were named all conference. They were Amanda Lieser, Erin Aagesen and Tiffany Rausch.

The girls had a successful and fun season this year. We always encourage new members to take part in this great sport. Thanks to all who supported us throughout the season. It was greatly appreciated!
