Lieser and Mages win big volleyball awards

Well, the volleyball season is officially over. All the squads and their parents gathered at Hill Top Restaurant for supper and awards. Since the varsity is the oldest squad, it is hard to let the seniors go, but also to be excited for the others to come up.
Coach Sheila Mayer said the varsity girls were a very enjoyable team to coach this year. The team chemistry was great on and off the court.
The Paynesville varsity volleyball team ended up with a 37-37 record. In the beginning of the year, the team made some goals and one of them was to have a record over 500 and that they accomplished. This was just one of the goals achieved by the girls. Coach Mayer also mentioned she had gotten many compliments by fans, other coaches and parents, about how Paynesville volleyball has improved. A big part of that is the support received from the community who came and cheered on the girls. It was greatly appreciated by everyone.
Some of the big awards that were given out were:
Honorable Mention: Laura Mages
West Central Conference: Tanya Lieser
All-Tournament (Minnewaska): Tanya Lieser
Most Inspirational: Laura Mages
All the volleyball players on the squads would like to thank their parents, friends, family, the pep band, and all the other fans for supporting them and being at the games for encouragement. It was greatly appreciated.
