On a rainy night that reminded the Bulldogs of last year when they were blown out by the Huskies, Paynesville was hoping to at least pull out a victory on the number three-rated Huskies.
On the Bulldogsí first drive, Paynesville ran the ball for a first down. They were stopped and forced to punt. This was the story for the rest of the night. The Bulldogs were shut down on offense by the Huskies.
The Huskies were also shut down on their first drive, but on their next drive they scored a touchdown to pull ahead 7-0. The Huskiesí defense converted a touchdown when they forced Jesse Spates to fumble, picked up the ball and ran it into the end zone. Albany scored once more before the half and went into the locker room with a 21-0 lead.
The second half mirrored the first. Albany came out strong and scored two touchdowns in the third quarter. This brought the score to 35-0, where it would stay the rest of the night.
The Bulldog offense could just not get going. They had six tournovers; three interceptions thrown by Spates and a couple of fumbles which did not help them either.
