Boys cross country team runs last race of the season

The Bulldogs cross country team had their last race of the season at the Sub Sections cross country meet held in New London-Spicer, Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The team, unfortunately, had a bad race on the day it counted most. They had the potential to advance to Sections, however, they failed to perform at this meet.

Luc Trees was the first Bulldog runner to cross the finish line, placing 17th, with a time of 18:42. Clayton Lang was in fourth place up until the last mile when his side unexpectedly cramped up, and he finished 22nd. He showed a lot of effort and will surely be one of the teamís most valuable assets next season.

Ryan Flanders and Eric Rausch placed 25th and 26th in 19:11, respectively.

Paynesvilleís fifth runner was Travis Flanders who finished 30th in 19:25. Steve Gilk was 33rd. Eric Korman had a nasty cold, but still managed to finish 37th.

Though the Bulldogs may not have had the most impressive last race of the season, their entire team will be back next year, faster and stronger than ever before.
