Local youth compete in regional Punt, Pass, Kick

Six Paynesville athletes competed in the regional Punt, Pass, Kick competition Saturday in Sacred Heart.

Youth, ages eight to 15, competed against their peers from the southwest corner of the state. Among the schools represented at the competition were: Benson, BDRSH, BOLD, Ortonville, Marshall, Litchfield, Minneota, ACGC, Paynesville, and Adrian.

Kayla Hemingson and Todd Stelling both brought home third place medals.

The results for local competitors were:

Eight and nine-year-olds:
Joshua Fenske 162'11"

Ten to eleven-year-olds:
Roger Schaumann 147'6"

Twelve to thirteen-year-olds:
Raeann Knisley 102'5"
Trent Hanson 156'3"

Fourteen to fifteen-year-olds:
Kayla Hemingson, 161'10"
Todd Stelling 275'1"

Scores of the top Minnesota youth are compared with the scores of youth from North and South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The top five from the five-state area advance to the Metrodome to compete during a half-time of a Minnesota Vikings game.
