Special Olympics bowling held

The Area 7 Special Olympics bowling competition was held on Saturday in St. Cloud. Six athletes from Paynesville participated in the competition.

Bowling from the elementary school was Michael Powers. Crystal Rudy, Annie Liedman, and Missy Everson competed from the middle school. Yvette Lounsbury and Erica Wander competed from the high school.

Athletes are divisioned according to age and skill level. Each athlete bowled two games as part of the singles competition.

The results of the tournament were: Powers and Liedman received second place ribbons. A third place ribbon went to Wander. Fourth place ribbons went to Lounsbury, Everson, and Rudy.

Congratulations to all the athletes on a great competition.

Two athletes will advance to the state competition. They are Everson and Powers. This competition will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, in South St. Paul.
