Last Thursday, Oct. 9, the Bulldog cross country team traveled north to Long Prairie Golf Course to compete in the West Central Conference cross country meet. The day was cold and blustery, two factors that slowed the times a bit.

The varsity squad competed very well to place third. The team had three runners earn all-conference honors. The first Bulldog across the line was freshman Clayton Lang. He used good tactics and tough running to earn 10th place. The second and third Bulldogs to finish were Dan Johnson and Luke Trees. They ran the tough course in 18:32 and 18:35, respectively. These top three Bulldogs ran well enough to earn all-conference medals.

Allowing the team to be very competitive was freshman Adam Utsch and senior Colby Sheierl. They both ran fantastic races, and finished close behind Paynesvilleís top three.

The sixth and seventh Bulldogs to finish were Troy Wendlandt and Eric Rausch. They ran the hilly course well enough to place 31st and 35th.

The Bulldogs competed at their Sub Section race yesterday (Oct. 14) in Paynesville. Results will be in next weekís Press.
