Meagher earns conference honor
Max Meagher, a senior at Northwestern College in St. Paul, was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week during their 31-24 victory over Augsburg College on Saturday, Sept. 9. Meagher accounted for seven tackles, including six solo tackles, a tackle for a loss, and a sack. He forced a fumble and recovered it in the fourth quarter as Augsburg was driving.
More recently, Meagher helped the Eagles beat Westmin-ster College (Mo.) 6-0 on Saturday, Sept. 23. He led the Eagles with 15 tackles in the win, improving their season record to 3-1.
Meagher, a senior linebacker, was named All Conference and All American last year. The son of Debbie and Mike Meagher of Paynesville and a 2002 PAHS grad, he is a youth ministry major.
