Boys improve at second meet
The Paynesville boys' cross country team finished sixth in a 14-team meet on Thursday, Sept. 4, improving four places from their first meet at Morris, where the team took tenth.|
"We definitely improved from the last meet and because we are such a young team we expect to continue improving throughout the season," said coach Darrel Carstens.
The Bulldogs finished behind Montevideo, Litchfield, Sauk Centre, New London-Spicer, and Albany at the BBE meet, which was held at the golf course in Brooten.
The team was led by junior Matt Mehr in 26th with a time of 18:06. He was followed by senior captain Chad Wyffels in 27th in 18:10 and ninth grader Dugan Flanders in 32nd in 18:29.
