The Bulldogs started their season strong with a third place finish at Morris on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Leading the pack of dogs was captain Clayton Lang. Out of a field of approximately 140 runners, Clayton finished ninth with a time of 18:38. Paynesville's next runner was Adam Utsch, who came in 13th with a time of 19:09.

Freshman Riley Flanders had an all-star performance, finishing 17th in 19:17. Eric Korman and Dan Pearson filled in the team's key fourth and fifth positions, placing 23rd and 24th, respectively.

A good minute or so behind them were Ryan Flanders and Eric Rausch, who finished 45th and 46th. Travis Flanders finished in 21:43, and Andrew Jones finished in 22:04.

The Bulldogs had an excellent overall team performance. Each individual runner still has room for improvement, and if that can happen then the season looks bright for Paynesville!
