Fall sports starting this week

Fall athletics are starting for high schoolers in August.

Varsity cross country, football, and volleyball practice started on Monday, Aug. 15. The first football practice (for grades 10-12) began at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, at the high school; the first volleyball practice (for grades 9-12) started at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, at the high school; and the first cross country practice (grades 7-12) began at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, on the high school track.

Football practice for ninth graders begins on Friday, Aug. 19, at 8 a.m. at the high school.

For seventh and eighth graders, football practice starts on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 3:30 p.m. in the middle school lockerroom, and volleyball practice starts on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 3:30 p.m. in the elementary school gym.

Athletes should remember to have an MSHSL eligibility form completed along with a physical on file at the school (dated within the last three years) before the first day of practice. These forms are available at the high school office.

Fees for athletics are $55 per sport for grades 7-8 and $75 per sport for grades 9-12 with a family maximum of $400.
