Fall athletics starting soon

Fall athletics at Paynesville Area High School will start soon, and athletes - grades 9-12 - need to complete three requirements to be eligible when practice begins. Fall practices open on Monday, Aug. 16.

To be eligible, athletes must have on file at the high school a physical dated within the last three years (physicals are usually given in seventh and tenth grades); to complete and sign a Minnesota State High School League eligibility form; and must pay a $75 athletic fee.

Volleyball players will meet for their first practice in the high school gym at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16; football players will meet in the high school lockerroom at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16; and cross country runners will meet at the high school track at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16.

Any questions about athletics eligibility can be directed to athletic coordinator Kyle Nehowig at 320-243-7570 (office) or 320-243-2441 (home).
