The Little Crow Ski Team was dethroned in the Mid-States Regional Show Ski Championship Sunday. The team, based in New London, had claimed the title for the past seven years, but were edged by the host Twin Cities River Rats by 17 points on the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Falls, a penalty, and a controversial ruling helped thwart the Little Crow team. As defending national champions, the Little Crow Ski Team had already qualified to defend their title at the National Show Ski Tournament in August.
Members of the team with Paynesville connections are: Jay Vagle and Holli (Whitcomb) and Eric Rudnigen.
