Hall of Fame nominees sought

By Michael Jacobson

Nominations are being sought for the second class of inductees into the Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame. Last year, the first six athletes and coaches were inducted into the new Hall of Fame.

The first class inducted into the Hall of Fame last fall was: former athletes Brad Fenske (Class of 1992), Jack Hoppe (Class of 1954); Tina (Lang) Fenske (Class of 1994); Don Liestman (Class of 1958); Sara (Realdsen) Lien (Class of 1986); and Loren Wendroth (Class of 1979); and former coaches Carol Smith and Virg Vagle.

The Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Bulldog Booster Club, seeks to recognize former athletes, coaches, athletic directors, and community members for their accomplishments and contributions to the athletic programs at Paynesville Area High School. Athletes are eligible for induction ten years after graduation, while coaches and athletic directors must be retired.

Nomination forms are available at the high school office, at the Community Education office, at the Press, or online. Nomination forms are due to athletic director Kyle Nehowig by Friday, July 28.

The next class of inductees will be honored at PAHS Homecoming on Friday, Oct. 6.
