Albany sweeps Paynesville

The Paynesville American Legion baseball team was swept in a doubleheader by Albany on Monday, July 1.

Albany beat Paynesville 4-3 in the first game and 14-2 in five innings in the second game. Both teams had five hits in the first game, with Adam Kampsen and Justin Butkofski having two hits apiece for Paynesville. Butkofski had a double and three RBIs.

In the second game, Paynesville made seven errors to help Albany, which also had 11 hits.

The losses leave Paynesville Legion team winless for the summer season, at 0-5.
