Local runners fare well at area road races

Local runners fared well at area road races the last two weekends. On Saturday, Clayton Lang of Paynesville finished second at the 12-mile Green Lake Road Race. The 2001 PAHS grad, who now runs for SDSU, finished second for the second straight year in 1:10.40.

Riley Flanders, a 2002 PAHS grad who runs at St. John's University, was fifth in 1:13.51 at the Spicer event.

Other Paynesville runners were: Travis Flanders, 49th, in 1:30.22; Dugan Flanders, 83rd, in 1:39.38; Scott Ingalsbe, 84th, 1:39.49; Josh Kerzman, 116th, in 1:50.39; Camille Flanders, 19th (among women), in 1:40.57; and Nicole Flint, 65th, in 1:55.39.

A record 238 runners participated in the race.

At the Regent Run in St. Cloud on Saturday, June 26, Jen Hess of Paynesville won the women's five-mile race in 29:20. Riley Flanders was seventh overall in a field of more than 250 runners.
