Middle school track season ends
Thirty-one middle school track members participated in track and field events this spring. They attended meets in Paynesville, New London, Melrose, and ACGC, typically competing against eight to 11 teams.Fourteen girls and five boys competed on the seventh grade teams. In the eighth grade, six girls and six boys competed.
The seventh grade boys' and girls' teams regularly placed in the top three teams.
New middle school records were set by seventh grader Brooke Schmitz in the 800-, 1600-, and 3200- meter runs and by eighth grader Ranea Eastling in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.
Coaching the teams were: Alycia Long, Todd Spanier, and Dave Mutschelknaus.
