Middle school track season ends

Middle school track Thirty-one middle school track members participated in track and field events this spring. They attended meets in Paynesville, New London, Melrose, and ACGC, typically competing against eight to 11 teams.

Fourteen girls and five boys competed on the seventh grade teams. In the eighth grade, six girls and six boys competed.

The seventh grade boys' and girls' teams regularly placed in the top three teams.

New middle school records were set by seventh grader Brooke Schmitz in the 800-, 1600-, and 3200- meter runs and by eighth grader Ranea Eastling in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

Coaching the teams were: Alycia Long, Todd Spanier, and Dave Mutschelknaus.

Competeing in the middle school track team were: (fornt) Lauren Vaske, Kacie Wander, Tara Schmidt, Maggie Frieler, Samantha Moser, Tanya Whitcomb, Megan Mackedanz, Shonda Martinson, Christine Christian, (center) Matt Schoen, A.J. Christian, Marlowe Schaumann, Sheena Hoekstra, Lindsey Wyffels, Megan Reeck, Kayla Plantnberg, Sidney Moser, Greg Price, Chris Utsch; (back) coach Dave Mutschelknaus, coach Alycia Long, Kayla Dingmann, Alicia McCorquodale, Theresa Hedeen, Josh Toney, Jeremiah Gleitz, Keith Klein, Aaron Bachmann, Jason Wendroth, coach Toss Spanier, and Andy Palmer.
