Shortstop tourney held at Koronis Hills

Fifty-eight golfers competed in the annual Shortstop Tournament at Koronis Hills Golf Club on Sunday.

The championship fiight was a stroke-play event with three rounds on the back nine, the front, and the back. Winning the championship was a two-over par score of 108 was Brett Swedberg from Alexandria.

Paynesville native Dave Cameron, who now resides in Owatonna, tied for second at 112 with Dave Carruthers, of Maple Grove, who also is a club member. Another Paynesville native, Tom Welle, was fourth at 114.

In four flights, head-to-head matches were used to determine the winners, runners-up, and consolation winners. Flight play used the front nine, then the back, and then the front nine again.
