Kampsen to play in Lions All Star Game

Adam Kampsen Adam Kampsen, a recent graduate from PAHS, has been selected to play in the 30th annual Lions All Star Series on Friday, June 25, and Saturday, June 26.

Kampsen, a pitcher and infielder, will play with the north team, high school all stars from northern Minnesota. They will play the metro west all stars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25; the metro east all stars at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 26; and the south all stars at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. All games will be held at the Chaska Athletic Park in Chaska.

Senior Adam Kampsen - shown drilliing a pitch in the subsection final against Howard Lake-Waverly - was named most valuable player for baselball in the West Central Conference North this spring. Kampsen, the son of Liza Kampsen, plans to play baseball at Northern State University next year.

Kampsen will become the sixth PAHS baseball player to participate in the all star series, joining his brother Josh (2003), Doug Fuchs (2000), Ryan Wuertz (1996), Marc Schmitz (1983), and Lynn Hemmesch (1978).

Major leaguers who played in the all star series in the last 30 years include: Tim Laudner (1976), Jim Eisenreich (1977), Kent Hrbek (1978), Mike Kingery (1979), Terry Steinbach (1980), and Joe Mauer (2001).
