By Michael Jacobson

Senior Josh Kampsen and coach Brad Skoglund will take part in the 29th annual Lions All-Star Baseball Tournament this weekend in Chaska.

Kampsen was one of 20 senior players selected for the northern team. Other area players on his team are Eric Eveslage and Keith Frieler of Melrose and Ryan Lieser of Rocori.

Skoglund will be one of the three coaches for the northern squad, which will play a round-robin tournament against all-star teams from the southern portion of the state, from the metro east, and from the metro west.

All games will be held at the Chaska Athletic Park in Chaska. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for seniors and students. The tournament benefits the Lions Children's Eye Clinic at the University of Minnesota.

The North will play the Metro West on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Then, on Saturday, the North will play the Metro East at 12:30 p.m. and then the South at 4:30 p.m.
