The Bulldogs ended their season with a 12-4 loss on Monday, May 22, to Dassel-Cokato in the first round of sub-section playoffs.

Paynesville was seeded eighth and Dassel-Cokato was seeded first in the sub-section. Because D-C was seeded higher, they hosted the game.

There was no scoring by either team in the first two innings. In the third inning, Jenny Habben got on base with a hit, advanced to second on Tiff Haag's grounder, and made it to third safely on a wild pitch. Habben scored on a ground out by Lisa Hemingson.

The Chargers were able to answer the Bulldog's lone run with five runs in the bottom of the third. After the Bulldogs were unable to score any runs in the fourth, the Chargers added five more runs in the bottom of the inning.

Errors by the Bulldogs helped the Chargers. The Bulldogs committed six errors in the field during the contest.

With Paynesville in danger of being ten-runned, the players knew that they had to score some runs.

In the sixth, the Bulldogs plated three runs to cut the lead to 10-4. Mellody Veldkamp hit a triple, and Kelly Loesch drew a walk. Habben hit a ball past the left fielder for a double. Both Veldkamp and Loesch were able to score.

D-C scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to make it 12-4. That was the last of the scoring.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a record of 4-14.
