Golfers finish seventh in sub-section

Sally Heitke The Bulldogs completed their season on Monday, May 22, at the Kimball Golf Course.

The girls missed a full day of school to compete in sub-sections, where they took seventh place out of 12 teams. Only the top four teams advanced to sections, so the girls' team ended their season.

The medalist of the meet was Shenna Jackson from Becker, who shot an 87.

The Bulldogs did turn in some low scores. The top scorer for the Bulldogs was Sally Heitke(pictured), who shot a 99. She finished two strokes short of qualifying for sections. The top 15 individuals advanced, and scores of 97 qualified for sections.

Junior Katie Wright and eighth grader Heather Fuchs shot 102 for Paynesville. Amanda Glenz shot a 103. The Bulldogs four-person total was 406.

Maria Janotta came in with a score of 108, and Erin O'Fallon shot a 120.

Banquet The golf team held their banquet on Tuesday, May 23, at the golf course. Sally Heitke took home the Most Valuable Player award. She averaged rounds of 51. Most improved honors went to Amanda Glenz and Heather Fuchs.
