Bulldogs beat ACGC for fourth victory

Lisa Hemingson The Bulldogs beat Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 15-11 on Thursday for their fourth victory of the season.

The Bulldogs were able to score a run in every inning. The Bulldogs had six hits, and were helped by 12 Falcon errors.

Paynesville built a 7-3 lead after three innings, and a 13-6 lead after six. Leading 15-6 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs went onto the field knowing that they just had to hold ACGC to win the game. The Bull-dogs made several errors during the sev-enth inning, which allowed ACGC to score five runs. However, the five runs were not enough, and the Bulldogs won.

Tiff Haag, Tricia Hemmesch, and Jenny Habben had hits for Paynesville. Haag had a double and a triple.

Habben scored four runs, and Haag scored three. Hem-mesch had two RBIs, and Habben and Haag each had one.

Coach Tim Woehler said, "After dropping a tough one to Litch, it was nice to come out swinging against ACGC and to score in every inning. Hopefully, we can carry it into the sub-section playoffs on Monday."

The Bulldogs lost 12-2 at Litchfield on Tuesday, May 16, due to errors and failing to hit the ball.

The Bulldogs got only five hits and were unable to score any runs until the fifth inning. They scored once in the fifth and another in the sixth.

The Dragons, meanwhile, had 13 hits and jumped to a 9-0 lead after three innings. The game was stopped in the sixth inning due to the ten-run rule.

Lisa Hemingson, Tricia Hemmesch, Kelly Heinen, Crystal Humbert, and Kelly Loesch had hits for Paynesville. Humbert had a double.

Loesch recorded six strikeouts on the hill for Paynesville.

The Bulldogs fin-ished the conference season with a record of 1-11. They were 3-2 in nonconference games and finished with an overall record of 4-13.
