Boys take seventh at Melrose

The Bulldogs boys' golf team finished seventh in the last West Central Conference North meet last week and finished seventh in the conference in the overall standings.

Senior Nathan Glenz led the Dogs with a round of 43, and ninth grader Mitchell Mackedanz added a round of 47 at Long Prairie on Monday, May 13, but the Bulldogs trailed the other conference teams by nearly 20 strokes.

Albany - led by medalist Aaron Kleinschmidt's 36 - won the meet with a team total of 160. Litchfield took second and tied with Long Prairie-Grey Eagle for the overall conference title.

Senior Adam Rafferty added a 51 and junior Eric Gerding added a 54 to complete Paynesville's team scoring.

The Bulldogs will play in their subsection meet today at Becker. If the team or individuals advance, the section meet will be held on Tuesday, May 28, at 1 p.m. at Rich-Spring Golf Course between Richmond and Cold Spring.
