Paul plays on select 15-year-old hockey team

Select team with James Paul Five area hockey players represented District 5 of Minnesota Hockey at the annual Select 15 Spring Festival held in New Hope, Minn. Every participant in the festival was born in 1987.

The local boys were part of a 20-member team that was selected out of nearly 50 try-out participants.

James Paul (second from left) played last winter for the Paynesville-New London-Spicer Bantam B team. Mike Dvorak played with the Litchfield-Dassel-Cokato bantams, Mark Conboy played with the Willmar bantams, and Jake Engquist and Andy Schramel played with the River Lakes Stars, a co-operative high school team, including Paynesville.

Paul is the son of Rick and Jill Paul of Paynesville.

District 5 coach Bob Jernberg had this to say about Paul: "Smart, disciplined hockey player. Very coachable. Good skill level. Excellent team player."

These five will be teammates again this summer on the Central Minnesota Bees '87 team. Five more PNLS bantams Mike Mueller, Nick Dahlen, Bo Sjoberg, Matt Robison, and Alex Naujokas will join them. The Bees will participate in two tournaments in June and one in August.
