Girls take fourth place at Litchfield

The Paynesville girlsŐ golf team took fourth place in a seven-team meet at Litchfield on Friday, May 9.

The Bulldogs scored 210 in the nine-hole meet. Junior Heather Fuchs carded a 49, junior Amanda Glenz carded a 51, junior Jena Spaulding carded a 53, and ninth grader Amber Jensen carded a 57 for the Bulldogs.

Benson won the meet, beating Albany by one stroke, 187-188. Litchfield was three strokes back at 190. Lindsey Wellenstein of Albany was the meet medalist with a round of 39.

This week, the Bulldogs played their last conference meet on Monday at Melrose. They also will play in a nonconference meet at Annandale on Friday at 3 p.m.

Next week, the Dogs start the playoffs with the subsection tournament at Becker on Tuesday, May 20. Play starts at 1 p.m.
