Steve Koehn, a 1996 Paynesville Area High School graduate, played in the National All-Stars Collegiate football game on Saturday, April 29. The game was part of a six-game national series that featured selected players from NCAA Division II and Division III .

Koehn, who completed his collegiate career at Hamline University in St. Paul last fall, was one of two punters on the Blue team. His team included mainly players from the Midwest but also had players from colleges in Vermont, North Carolina, and Alabama.

The contest ended in a 28-28 tie. With all the offense, Koehn had only two chances to punt. He had a 50-yard punt in the first quarter, and had a 36-yard boot downed on the opposing one yard line in the third.

Koehn, the son of Pastor Ric and Barb Koehn of Paynesville, will graduate this spring with a major in social studies.
