Dogs win three road baseball games

By Michael Jacobson

By winning three road games last week, the Paynesville baseball team improved their season record to 7-4.

The Bulldogs won conference games at Sauk Centre on Tuesday, April 29, and against Albany on Thursday - evening their record in conference at 3-3 - and beat Maple Lake, a subsection rival, on Friday.

Against state-rated Sauk Centre, the Dogs used a four-run second inning to take an early lead and rode the strong pitching of senior Russ Leyendecker in a 7-1 victory.

The Bulldogs scored four runs in the second inning, getting an RBI double by junior Adam Hemmesch and a bases-loaded single by junior Adam Kampsen.
