Boys golf team competes in three meets

The Bulldogs traveled to Benson on Saturday morning for the annual Benson Invitational tournament. Twenty five area teams competed in the 18-hole event.

Unfortunately, the team was short handed because of many other conflicts with players. Ony five players were able to make the meet.

Shortness of players, the narrow and tough course, and the tough field of teams only allowed the Bulldogs to come in 18th place. Ryan Mackedanz led the team with an 84, followed by Ryan Wall with a 90.

WCC at Sauk Centre
The Bulldogs were greeted by sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70's as they traveled to Sauk Centre for a West Central Conference meet on Friday.

Although the weather was cooperating nicely, the boys were struggling with their games. The opportunities were there, but the Bulldogs could not capitalize on them. They weren't hitting the shots that they wanted to on the tees and on th e fairways, and putts were not falling.

The team ended up taking a disappointing seventh place. Ryan Mackedanz led the way with a 43, including an eagle on the par 5 seventh hole at Sauk Centre Country Club. Mackedanz was followed by Ryan Wall with a 45.

WCC at Albany
Monday, April 26, the boys played in a WCC meet at Albany. Cathedral cruised to the win with a score of 150. The Bulldogs had 171, placing them fifth.

Ryan Mackedanz was low man for Paynesville with a socre of 39.

The Bulldogs finished sixth in a WCC meet at LPGE on Monday and played at Melrose on Tuesday.
