Girls take sixth at two WCCN meets

Sophomore Marissa Mackedanz tied for third individually, but the Dogs placed sixth as a team at a conference meet at Sauk Centre on Tuesday, April 26.

Mackedanz shot 46 to finish in a three-way tie for third, three strokes behind medalist Lindsey Wellenstein, a senior from Albany who tied for third individually in Class A last year.

Junior Amber Jensen shot 53 for the Dogs. Sophomore Cassandra Olmscheid shot 61, and eighth grader Karla Leitzman shot 66 to complete the Dogs' team score.

Albany meet
The Dogs placed sixth at a conference meet in cold, windy conditions at Albany on Thursday.

Mackedanz led the Dogs with a round of 51. Only nine of the 41 players shot rounds in the 40s due to the weather.

Jensen shot a 57 for the Bulldogs.

Cathedral edged Albany by one stroke for the team title, 184-185. Albany now leads Cathedral by one point in the conference race.
