Golfers take sixth at conference meets

By Michael Jacobson

Junior Marissa Mackedanz finished one stroke away from medalist honors at Albany on Thursday, as the PAHS girls' golf team placed sixth in a West Central Conference North meet.

Mackedanz fired a season-best competitive round of 40 and finished one stroke behind co-medalists Betsy Miller of St. Cloud Cathedral and Kim Zylla of LPGE, who both carded 39s. Mackedanz tied at 40 with Sarah Roering of Minnewaska, which won the team title and retook the conference lead over Albany.

Senior Amber Jensen shot 47 for the Bulldogs, finishing 15th individually at the meet.

Junior Cassandra Olmscheid (61) and ninth grader Karla Leitzman (63) completed the Dogs' team score.
