Glenz fires 40 to lead Bulldogs

Nathan Glenz The Bulldogs boys' golf team finished seventh in a West Central Conference North meet on Monday, April 17. The meet was hosted by St. Cloud Cathedral at the Angushire golf course.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle won the meet with a four-man total of 154. Cathedral finished two strokes behind them, and Albany, led by medalist Jason Luthmers, who shot a 35, was third with 158.

The Bulldogs were led by Nathan Glenz (picture at right) . He finished just out of the top five with a 40.

Eric Gerding shot 46 for Paynesville, and Pat Spooner and Adam Rafferty each shot 47. The Bulldogs' total was 180, which was two strokes away from sixth. Sauk Centre finished sixth with 178.

With the victory in the first meet, LPGE took the early lead in the cumulative conference standings. They earned seven points for being first. Paynesville got one point for seventh.

The Bulldogs played at Albany on Monday and finished seventh. They play at Kimball on Thursday and at Sauk Centre on Friday. Next Monday they will compete at LPGE.
