Boys dominate home meet

Andy Jones The track team got their first win of the season last Tuesday at home against seven area teams. The team defeated the rest of its competitors by nearly 50 points.

The team had nine first place finishes, and the team had a top three finisher in all but three events.

Those who finished first included Jeff Voss in the 110- and 300-meter hurdle races, Clayton Lang in the 1600- and 3200-meter races, Steve Flint in the shot put, Andrew Jones in the triple jump, Nic Glenz in the pole vault, Luke Trees in the high jump, and the 1600-meter relay team of Trees, Voss, Glenz, and Eric Rausch.

The team scored the biggest amount of points in distance running. In the events and relays of 1600 meters and over the team scored a total of 65 points in only those four events. The team hopes to win many more meets and looks to beat the score they had at this meet of 191 points.
