Golf course to open this week

By Michael Jacobson

Koronis Hills Golf Course is expected to open this week, weather permitting.

Superintendent Jason Ruhoff said the course was expected to open on Tuesday, April 4, if the weather holds. Most of the snow has melted and the frost is out on the course, he said on Monday, but a few wet spots still needed to dry before opening the course for play.

The course had adequate snow cover over the winter and seems to have fare pretty well, he added, with the fairways looking good. "All in all," he said, "I think we came through pretty good."

While the course should open this week, spring weather always continues to effect the course, added Ruhoff. Spring rains - or possibly more snow - could close the course again. Golfers should watch the weather and check with the club house for tee times.
