The Paynesville Bulldog boys' track team had another indoor meet last Friday night at St. John's University in Collegeville.

The Bulldogs fared well with a very young roster Friday. Numerous nagging injuries to older members of the team prevented them from competing.

Paynesville really scored points in the 3200-meter run by taking four out of the the eight places. Clayton Lang led the way by taking second place.

Freshman Eric Rausch also did well in his events taking first place in the 400-meter dash and taking a very close second in the 200-meter dash.

In the shot put, junior Steve Flint showed off his skills by thrusting the shot put 42' 2", which was a second-place effort.

Senior Troy Wendlandt tied for first place in an amazing 55-meter hurdle race with a time of 8.2 seconds.

Overall the team placed third out of six teams. This wasn't too bad considering how many of Paynesville's athletes were unable to compete.

On April 6 the boys traveled to Morris for their first outdoor meet of the season. Their first home meet is on Monday, April 12.
