Glenz named to all-area teams

By Michael Jacobson

Senior Amanda Glenz has been named to the all-area basketball teams by both the St. Cloud Times and the West Central Tribune.

Glenz, a six-foot center, averaged 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game this year for the Bulldogs, who finished 15-8. She also earned All Conference honors in the West Central Conference North. The Dogs were 7-3 in conference, finishing second behind Albany, which took third place in Class AA.

She was a repeat selection to the first team by the West Central Tribune. Other first-team members were Allison Bratsch and Melanie Henjum of NL-S, Kara Karlsgodt of ACGC, and Emily Swierenga of Willmar.

For the St. Cloud Times, Glenz was picked to the first team along with Joanne Noreen of Albany, Becky Korf of Pierz, Michelle Henry of Sauk Rapids, and Kayla Rengel of St. Cloud Tech.

Glenz finished her three-year-varsity career with 1,070 points (not 1,055 points as listed last week in the Press). She is third all-time in scoring for Paynesville girls' basketball. She plans to play basketball collegiately next year at Northern State University.

On Saturday, Glenz will play in an area All Star game at BBE. The girls' game starts at 5 p.m.
