Senior David Kerzman, the first back-to-back state champion in Paynesville history, wrestled in the Dapper Dan Classic in Pittsburgh, Penn., on Saturday.

Kerzman, who won his second title earlier in March, was selected as the state's top 130-pounder to compete against a team of All Stars from western Pennsylvania.

Kerzman lost a 17-8 major decision to Ron Tarquinio (150-19) of West Allegheny, who won a state title in Pennsylvania and finished in the top three four times.

The Western Pennsylvania All Stars edged Minnesota 22-21.

Minnesota also had two wrestlers on the USA team: Bloomington Kennedy's Marcus LeVesseur and Frazee's Matt Nagel. LeVesseur won, and Nagel lost decisions, as the USA team defeated a team of Pennsylvania All Stars 31-19.

The USA team featured three recruits for the University of Minnesota: LeVesseur, Nagle, and Cory Cooperman of New Jersey.
