The Bulldog boys' tracksters started off their season last Saturday at St. Cloud State University. With over 20 teams, many of which were in a higher class than the Bulldogs, it looked to be a challenging meet.

No team scores were to be kept in this meet, but the Bulldogs did quite well.

Senior Clayton Lang took second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09, only two seconds away from the school record. Eric Korman was fifth in the event.

Lang also was fourth in the 3,200-meter run, and Dan Pearson was fifth.

The Bulldogs also placed two athletes in the top ten in both the long and triple jumps, as Ryan Whitcomb and Andrew Jones finished fifth and sixth respectively in the triple jump and eighth and ninth in the long jump.

Scott Thompson also placed eighth in the 400-meter dash, and Nic Glenz was eighth in the pole vault.

In all, the Bulldogs had ten individual top ten placers.

Another highlight for the Bulldogs was the 3,200-meter relay team of Korman, Travis Flanders, Riley Flanders, and Tommy Flannigan, who took third place, losing only to tough teams from Cathedral and Wayzata.

The Bulldogs's other relay teams took sixth and tenth.

The Bulldogs have their next indoor meet at the St. John's University Field House next Saturday, March 31.
