Pirouettes The Pirouettes placed tenth out of 26 lines in the state danceline competition Saturday at Williams Arena.

Paynesville competed among Class A schools in the high kick and precision danceline category.

Each judge rated the lines from best to worst, and a composite score was found by dropping the high and low rating and averaging the rest. Paynesville received these placings: sixth, seventh, eighth, tenth, eleventh, and two ties for fifteenth.

The average of these was tenth. The same finish as last year.

“They did a really good job,” said danceline coach Colleen Peyerl. “They performed very well.”

The Pirouettes will be holding tryouts for next year’s squad next week at the high school. Tryouts will be after school from March 8-12.
