PNLS Squirts win two more games

Cody Burr got the Paynesville-New London-Spicer Squirts off to a quick start Saturday in Paynesville with two goals in the first period. Goalie Danny Lien recorded a shutout in defeating Buffalo.

Others scoring for the Squirts were Jamie Paul, five goals, and one assist; Max Lahr, Shannon Smith, and Derek Looman, one goal and one assist each; Alex Naujokas and Ross Barten, three assists each.

Hanover 3

The Paynesville-New London-Spicer Squirts held Hanover to only six shots on goal to earn a victory in their last home game of the season Sunday in Paynesville.

Alex Naujokas and Jamie Paul scored two goals each with Naujokas also getting an assist. Matt Schoen and Patrick Roers also scored a goal each.

Roers and Ross Barten tallied assists, with Max Lahr getting an assist on the play of the game in which he set up Schoen’s goal.

Paynesville has a 20-1 record.

The Squirts next game is Saturday, Feb. 20, at 12:30 p.m., at the Litchfield Fire and Ice Hockey Tournament. They will be playing against Benson.
