Krupke leads Bulldogs to victory at Melrose

Paynesville traveled to Melrose on Thursday to play their only game of the week. Paynesville dominated the game and won easily 60-42.

The Bulldogs took control in the first quarter building a 19-5 lead. Steph Krupke ignited the scoring in the first quarter, as she netted 10 of her team leading 20 points. Carin Frenchick also scored six of her 14 points in the first.

Melrose didnÕt score again until mid-way through the second quarter. The score at halftime was Paynesville 27, Melrose 10.

The Bulldogs didnÕt come out of the locker room with much intensity, as both teams scored 13 points in the third.

However, the Bulldogs went on to score 20 fourth quarter points. Krupke continued to put on a show as she dished out five assists in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs were victorious by the score of 60-42.

Leading the Bulldogs was Steph Krupke with 20 points, 10 assists, and five steals. Carin Frenchick added 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs are now 6-3 in the conference and 10-7 overall. They are in third place in the WCC.

PaynesvilleÕs next game will be at home on Thursday against ACGC. Thursday is also parentsÕ night. On Friday, the team will play at conference-leading Sauk Centre. The Bulldogs faced second-place Litchfield last night, and the results will be in next weekÕs paper.
