River Lakes shuts out Sleepy Eye, 1-0

The Stars shut out Sleepy Eye 1-0 on Saturday in their only game last week.

Due to the traditional Minnesota weather, the Stars' game against Sauk Centre on Thursday was cancelled.

The Stars traveled to Sleepy Eye on Saturday, and won the close, low-scoring contest.

The game consisted of almost pure defense, as you can tell by the score. The only goal was scored by the Stars' Mike Anderson in the first period.

River Lakes battled with Sleepy Eye the rest of the game. Sleepy Eye did outshoot the Stars 30-23, but freshman Blake Theisen made 30 saves in goal to record the shutout.

The Stars played last night against Becker/Big Lake. Their last game of the regular season will be tomorrow at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.

The playoffs start next Tuesday, Feb. 20, but seedings were not known at press time. The Stars will likely play a road game on Tuesday.
