Stars fall to Litch 2-1

The River Lakes Stars boys' hockey team lost their only game this week, 2-1 to Litchfield on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Koronis Civic Arena in Paynesville.

The Dragons scored an even-strength goal in the first period and a power-play goal in the second to take a 2-0 lead. The Stars' Mike Heinen scored with three minutes to play to cut the lead to 2-1, but the contest ended that way.

The Dragons outshot the Stars 33-22 with Brett Theisen making 31 saves for the Stars.

The Stars played Benson last night. They will play Sartell on Saturday night in Richmond, with the junior varsity starting at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity following.

River Lakes-- 0 0 1 - 1
