Last-minute goal lifts River Lakes to 3-2 victory

By Michael Jacobson

Junior wing Mike Anderson scored with less than a minute to play to give the River Lakes Stars boys' hockey team a 3-2 victory at Benson/Morris on Thursday.

Anderson scored a power play goal with 50 seconds to play in the third period to break a 2-2 tie. He was assisted by senior center Kyle Curran and sophomore forward Andy Schramel.

The Stars had taken a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by sophomore forward Ryan Weber. After Benson/Morris scored later in the first period to tie the game at 1-1, the Stars scored the only goal in the second period to lead 2-1.
