BBE, Albany top Dogs in hoops

By Michael Jacobson

The Bulldogs boys' basketball team dropped two more games last week, extending their losing streak to four games. The Bulldogs lost two road games: to Albany 54-33 on Thursday in a conference game and 75-41 to BBE on Monday, Jan. 13, in a nonconference game.

Against Albany, the Dogs played well in the first quarter, trailing by one after eight minutes, 12-11, but the Huskies outscored the Dogs 42-22 the rest of the game and won easily.

Senior guard Josh Teicher had 11 points to lead the Bulldogs in scoring.

The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 1-2 in the West Central Conference North. The victory raised the Huskies' conference record to 3-0.

Against BBE, the Bulldogs could not stop the Jaguars' offense. BBE scored 19 points in the first quarter and 24 in the second, taking a 43-24 lead at the half. Then, in the third quarter, the Bulldogs scored only four points while allowing 18 more.

The Bulldogs made four three-pointers against BBE, but the Jaguars made eight.

Junior wing Adam Kampsen scored 12 points to lead the Dogs, and Teicher added 10 points.

The Bulldogs are now 4-6 overall.
