Squirts win another two games

Alex Naujokas scored two goals as the unbeaten Paynesville-New London-Spicer (PNLS) Squirts cruised to a 6-1 win Saturday in Paynesville.

Jamie Paul, Max Lahr, Ross Barten, and Justin Bork also scored for PNLS which led 4-0 before Crow River scored at the end of the second period. Assisting on the scoring were Paul, 2, Cody Burr, Patrick Roers, and Derek Looman. Matt Schoen made 14 saves in goal.

Mound 3

On Sunday afternoon, Jan. 17, at the Koronis Civic Arena, Alex Naujokas scored four goals, including the go-ahead goal in the third period as PNLS fought off a Mound rally and won 6-3.

Jamie Paul scored the other two goals as the Squirts extended their unbeaten season to 12 games. Max Lahr had four assists with Paul and Shannon Smith getting one each.

Matt Schoen made 14 saves, including eight in the second period.

The Paynesville Squirts will host a Squirt Invitational Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 23 and 24, at the Koronis Civic Arena. Teams competing include: Anoka, Sauk Rapids, and Sioux City, Iowa.
