The Dogs beat the Lakers on all four apparatuses, including sweeps of the top four spots on both the uneven bars and the vault.

The Dogs outscored the Lakers 28.225 to 15.5 on the bars, 32.45 to 28.95 on the vault, 26.3 to 22.65 on the balance beam, and 26.75 to 24.175 on the floor exercise.

Ninth grader Anna Kotten and junior Kacy Nehowig dominated the individual placings, each winning two events and placing second in the other two. Kotten edged Nehowig for first place in the all around 30.5 to 29.575.

Nehowig led sweeps for the Dogs on the bars and vault, taking first in both with Kotten second in both. Sophomore Brittney Spanier was third on the bars and fourth on the vault, while seventh grader Megan Wuertz was third on the vault and fourth on the bars.

Kotten won both the balance beam and the floor exercise with Nehowig second in both. Seventh grader Caitlyn Gottwald was third in the floor exercise, while Spanier was fourth on the balance beam with sophomore Cassey Lund fifth.

The Dogs beat the Lakers by 22.5 points without varsity regulars senior Kayla Nelson and junior Celia Frieler, who had a conflict.

Sophomore Brittney Spanier placed in three events on Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the Dogs' victory over Howard Lake-Waverly. She placed third on the uneven bars, fourth on the vault, and fourth on the balance beam.

This week, the Dogs (1-9) will host New London-Spicer on Thursday at the Lake Koronis Assembly Grounds. Next week, they will host Dassel-Cokato on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
