Over the holiday vacation, the Stars went on the road to Little Falls, to take part in their annual holiday tournament. This year, due to bad weather, the first day's games were cancelled.

The Stars started play on Friday, Dec. 29, against the Jamestown Blue Jays.

The first period was scoreless for the first ten minutes. But as soon as Jamestown put one in with five minutes left, two more followed within a minute.

Jamestown dominated the second period, scoring five more goals.

The third period went, for the most part, the same. Jamestown scored twice, before the Stars' Chris Brinkman put one in to get the Stars on the board. Mike Stang and A.J. Johnson assisted on the goal.

Jamestown answered with two more to finish the game, making the final tally Jamestown 12, River Lakes 1.

The Stars scored three third-period goals to beat Benson 4-3 in the second round of the Little Falls tournament on Saturday, Dec. 30.

Benson scored the only goal in the first period, taking a 1-0 lead.

The Stars started to wake up in the second period and tied the score when Derek Dahlen found the net. Benson answered back with a goal to retake the lead 2-1.

In the third period, Brett Theisen scored an unassisted goal for the Stars to tie the score at three, but once again Benson answered to take a lead again, 3-2. However, the Stars controlled the rest of the period, as Mike Stang and Chris Brinkman each scored a goal to put the Stars on top.

Brett Theisen led the scoring for the Stars with a goal and two assists. Darren Stomes assisted on both the game-tying and game-winning goals in the third period.

The Stars' next game is against LPGE on Tuesday, Jan. 9. This game will be held at the Koronis Civic Arena in Paynesville, so come out and cheer us on.
